So we now have a new manager in place. He is experienced with working with electronic care management systems, and he was attracted to the post knowing one was in place. As we said in the last post, the transition to a new manager is much easier if everything is in one place and easy to access, rather than a paper system that can be difficult to navigate, and where items go missing very easily!
One example we found to highlight the benefits of an electronic system over paper was with an outstanding disciplinary case. We were asked by HR to find evidence to help the investigation. The handover notes were still being completed on paper and the notes from the date we needed were missing and unable to locate. However all of the incident forms, weight charts and daily notes that were needed were on CAREis and took around 10 minutes to locate, save to PDF and send to HR. We have made sure the service is using CAREis for handover notes ongoing.
